Children’s day is not a day for children alone. It’s a day all parent should seize to make a self assessment of parent-child relationship. It’s a day parent are suppose to evaluate their child growth in performance, attitude, character, values, principles, education, and ability. Its also for parent to ask themselves if they have provide adequately, meet the needs of their children, areas they lacking in terms of upbringing, how they have impacted on their live and so much more.
Self assessment is very important for everyone. We are all so busy with the bustling and hustling of life that we sometimes forget the other things that are important. By doing a self assessment or evaluation about yourself, you came to realize that there are still some gaps yet to be filled. It gives you the opportunity to do check and balance about your position or status.
When parent begin to do self assessment of themselves and their children, they would come to realize some changes either in them or with their children and thereby appreciate it or demote it for better growth. Doing self assessment will save the parent from nagging, worry and being disturb. Parent don’t do self assessment because they think, they are always right – the fault is always with the children – but do a self assessment of yourself as a parent, you will see you might be wrong.
